Occasionally we have either an older puppy or an adult that we have to look for a home for. Because we have our dogs in our home and not a kennel we are limited in our numbers. We do this to keep our home clean for us and the dogs. Also, to keep the dogs healthier and more one on one attention. We do have retired dogs that live in our home, our show/breeding dogs, and our puppies. All are members of our family.
We are now to a point we try to keep a puppy from a great litter back sometimes as a show prospect. But, in order to stay within our healthy range this creates situations where one of our top puppy picks might become available to a pet home if they nolonger meet the AKC guidelines as they get older. These are puppies at the time, we felt they had the potential to be better than some of our dogs and possibly a bright future in the show ring can change. They become house broken, loved, spoiled, older pets.
We also might have adults to place. I have been in rescue work since I was a small child. I will never turn away a rescue in need. Will I buy your pet from you no, but I will love your pet as if it was our own. We only allow our girls to have a few litters. We feel it is important to be able to retire our girls early to live out there lifes with our family. This gives them over half their life to become a loving companion. Most stay here to live there life out, but sometimes we have been known to have a couple, elder person, or family that comes to visit and it is just a great match. I still cry and hurt that they go, but when I see the photos or get the phone calls from how our dog has changed their life it is worth it.
Our rescues/adults are already crate and lead trained before they come to you. We will not place an adult rescue that is not able to function in a family. If they are not socialized, or have medical issues we will let them live there lifes out here. When adopting an older rescue you would miss the cute "puppy stages", for the most part, the training has already been done. If they know other tricks we will put this in there. If you might have an interest in a older pup or adult, please let us know. We are on the contact list for a few of the rescues in our area. We can put you on the waiting list or get you in touch with them.
As always they will come pre-spoiled and loved. We are always striving to do better and improve. It is a heart breaking task sometimes to do so. We get enjoyment from the cards, and emails from our family's that are spoiling our babies. This doesn't cure the pain but helps to know we made the right decision.
Adults are considered "available" until taken off the site.
