Post things that you like or love about your doxies. Not just ones from us. Dachshunds in general. Keep it clean though as kids can read this. Thanks

I got my baby Oy from you over a year ago, and he is by far the best dog I have ever had. We never feed him human food and as a result he NEVER begs... our guests sometimes think he is begging, because if you sit on the couch with food he will jump up beside you - but he just wants to sit in your lap. Often we will put the plate right on his back and he is perfectly content to sit there and nap while we eat!

My baby's name is Rosie! and she is now 2yrs old (hard to believe she hasn't always been apart of our family) Rosie was a jester for halloween, and got more attention than the kids..lol Rosie is very smart and loving, she loves her routines and does not like when they are messed with. We are going to breed her when she has her next heat, and we are looking forward to some very beautiful pups! if you want to know what she looks like, look under fun photos, she is the one wearing the irish sweater and the one under that as well. I will send new photos soon Adriane

Im teaching my 8 month old doxie to ring a bell when he wants to go out to potty. Things are going really well. In just two weeks he has learned that when the bell rings, I come runnin to let him out......usually he is just testing me LOL

Hello, I have never been so in love with dogs, our doxie's are the center of our lives. Sometimes the bed gets a little cramped, we have three 5 month old puppies that like to sleep wrapped around your neck or on your head, the 5 adults take the pillows and the middle of the bed. We kind of hold on to the edge. My husband said we need to get another bed and set it up next to ours. I'm afraid we'd just add more puppies and end up just barely holding on to whatever mattress is left. But, I wouldn't change a thing!

Yes, Stacey
Doxies are great. They are small, good with travel, kids, well everyone if socialized right. lol I understand about keeping you warm at night. Try many in the bed with hubby gone. lol Its a dachshund pile up. lol Some like under the sheets, next to your pillow, or on the back tucked in like a kid. lol I dont know what I would do with out mine. They have gotten me through some pretty tough times. Best of all when your having a bad day they just want to kiss and love on you.
Thanks so much for leting us know about your Cookie.
Stacey says...
Cookie is the name of my precious 3 year old black and tan long haired doxie. I tell everyone she is my favorite child. She keeps me warm at night when she sleeps under the covers. She follows me around the house when I am home and is always at the door to greet me when I return. She lets me know whenever the doorbell is about to ring. I didn't know a dog could be so much LOVE!

That is great I am so excited for you and Aden. It sounds like he is doing good. How is the potty training going?

Well, minor set back with #2....Potty pad's aren't helping - not sure if it is confusing or what. Try to have him out pleanty but, he has had a few accidents.
He can still fit thru our picket fence in the back, so when we are in the yard he has full rein of coming and going with the big dogs. In another week I think he will be to big for that.

Bella the Beagle and Beyonca - Thor's future babies momma.....Had a great weekend. Playing chase in the back yard. Beyonca has changed her tune with him and has decided she likes him. He can get thru the picket fence so he likes being able to leave on his own terms I think.

Thor is a great addition to the family. Aden is very proud of him and is registered primary owner with AKC. Thor has chewed out our cat and continues to tell Salvatore who's boss - which is very cute. Bella the beagle ~really likes Thor and gets frisky with him but is gentle. Beyonca (his future wife) doesn't know what to think yet. She was the last baby to the family so - she is confused but he like to chase her....If she only knew! He has a great personality!

Thor is doing great! He woke me up this morning at 6am wanting to go out to potty. He would stay in his cage without throwing a fit so he slept with me last night. His Aunt Jenny went by a 9am and will again at 11 to take him out to potty. So far no accidents! I will go see him at lunch at 12:30 and done at 3. So he should be kennel trained by next week for sure. Aden is very proud of him. I put Thor in his back pack and put it on Aden backwards with the top opened so he could take to show our neighbor Opal who is 83 - she was so excited!
